Fans of the UK-based comedy panel show Taskmaster will have just finished up watching series 16. The program itself just seems to go from strength to strength, so it's not surprising that it's being turned into an official video game. Specifically, a VR game.

Scallywag Arcade, a new developer based in Liverpool, UK, just debuted its trailer for a virtual reality adaptation of Taskmaster. The teaser shows all the familiar assets from the program, such as the studio, the caravan, as well as some of the tasks players will be challenged with.

The VR comedy will also feature the voices of Taskmaster Greg Davies and his assistant Alex Horne (the actual brains behind the show). There's currently no release date yet, but you can wishlist it on Steam. It also says that it'll be compatible with Steam VR.

Your time starts now

Featuring a plethora of well-known British comedians and TV personalities, Taskmaster has not only won BAFTA awards, but has also been adapted outside the UK. There are versions of it in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Finland, Norway, and more.

For those who haven't seen it, the show sets five panelists a series of tasks over the course of several months. These are filmed at the Taskmaster house in London. These clips are then shown to the Taskmaster himself in the studio, who then gives out points based on a number of criteria (sometimes arbitrary, typically funny).

Tasks themselves range from the bizarre to puzzling to team-based ones in which contestants must work together. Given the format, it's actually quite surprising that someone hasn't done a VR version of it already. But, here we are now.
