It's Marvel, baby!

Yes, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 has been freed. Arcade cabinet producer Arcade1Up has revealed a Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 arcade cabinet, packing the 3-on-3 fighter and many other Marvel arcade classics into one cab.
The cabinet includes eight games, and has built-in Wi-Fi. So not only is Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 back and playable in its first legit form since the Xbox 360 version, it will also have online play. The cab will also have exclusive side panel art, a matching custom riser, and a light-up marquee.

Alongside Marvel, there are seven other games packed into the cabinet as well. Here's the lineup:
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Arcade1Up cabinet game lineup

  • Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
  • Marvel Vs. Capcom
  • Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter
  • X-Men vs Street Fighter
  • Marvel Super Heroes
  • X-Men: Children of the Atom
  • X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse
  • Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems

It's a pretty solid lineup, in my opinion. No price point has been revealed yet, but pre-orders will start on September 8 and will, according to Arcade1Up, ship just a few weeks after.

Gonna take you for a ride

While Arcade1Up has released a Marvel Vs. Capcom cab before, it was a five-game cabinet with the first game as its marquee title. And while I do enjoy the original, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is the game that garnered a legacy all its own.
This lineup essentially combines the two previous Marvel x Capcom crossover cabs into one, with Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 at the top. It's a trip down memory lane, and a pretty darn good collection of Marvel's arcade history. Alongside the team-up fighters, there's also the Children of the Atom and Mutant Apocalypse, for when a more mutant-focused venture strikes your fancy.
One can only hope this is a sign that Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 could see some new ports to modern platforms as well. Otherwise, the Arcade1Up cab opens for pre-orders on September 8.
