Forums are dead, so here's some controversy. My favorite sport is Football. Not NFL Throwball. Soccer, Futbol, Footie. Here's why Football is superior to throwball:
1. 2 hours after kick-off, the game is over. You don't have to dedicate 1/2 day for a game.
2. No stopping the clock for time-outs, substitutions, injuries, commercials, punts, extra points, etc. At most 3 or 4 minutes are added to each half to compensate for "wasted time" (not time being wasted, you stoners)
3. Only 3 substitutions the whole game. Once you're off, you're out. No third-down specialists.
4. Due to the low scoring, on any given day, any team might beat any other team. Especially in leagues that demote the worst teams to a lower league and promotes the best from the lower league (regrettably not in the US (yet).)
5. Players usually make the first team by age 21 or 22 and can play for 8-10 years at the top level, and teams are usually about 25 players, so you can really get to know a team well. Not so many "one-year wonders" like NFL.
6. One ref (with power to expel a player, make decisions, etc) and 2 assts. Not an entire "third team" on the field.
7. On that note; no instant replays. Ref makes a decision and it's final.

I could go on, but I do have a job. Break's over. So yeah, sports. There it is.
