The Sims 4's Delivery Express (SDX) feature that Maxis regularly releases to introduce new, free content to the game. It typically consists of a few Create-A-Sim (CAS) or build items between their major pack launches. The highlight of the latest The Sims 4 SDX, introduced on February 13, 2024, features a wide array of additions to CAS in the form of new Vitiligo skin details as part of a collaboration with supermodel Winnie Harlow.

Vitiligo is a skin condition that causes patchy skin resulting from loss of pigmentation. Because of this, someone with darker skin may have patches of lighter skin around their body, occasionally affecting hair as well. While The Sims 4 historically has had few features to accommodate this, recent years have introduced new CAS items for various conditions. Today's SDX, as highlighted in The Sims 4's official blog post (https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/vitiligo-skin-feature-in-the-sims-4), has Vitiligo as the main topic.

Initially teased in The Sims 4's 2024 roadmap (https://www.destructoid.com/sims-4-roadmap-january-to-april/), the February 13 SDX collaborates with Winnie Harlow to introduce a new gallery house you can download and use in your worlds. Originally an avid The Sims player, Winnie designed this dream home to express her views on the game's push on diversity and what it means to encourage players to represent their true selves. Alongside the Vitiligo skin features, the house is now available in-game for you to use after downloading the update.

Currently, you can't choose the color of your Sim's Vitiligo. However, you can change, add, or remove Vitiligo patterns through CAS, and if you change your character's skin tone, the Vitiligo patterns will reflect this. You can also use it with other face and body details, including tattoos and body hair, but it isn't compatible with birthmarks. While it doesn't currently affect hair color, The Sims team plans to change this in future updates.

Past Sims 4 packs and SDX content updates have also pushed for diversity when representing various conditions, with previous ones introducing hearing aids, stretch marks, and scars to allow players to diversify their Sims.
