The annual user-voted Steam Awards are over for this year, and the winners have been revealed. Voting ran from 21 December at 10 AM PT until 2 January at 10 AM PT.
If you've been paying attention to gaming last year, then many of the winners won't be a surprise, although there are a few unexpected titles that make the final list.
Baldur's Gate 3 snatches up Game of the Year. With a reputation that has placed it among one of the best CRPGs of all time, this isn't unexpected. It faced competition from titles like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Lethal Company (https://www.destructoid.com/lethal-company-is-up-for-game-of-the-year-at-the-steam-awards/), and Hogwarts Legacy. Larian's game also wins the Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award.
The Best Game on Steam Deck award goes to Hogwarts Legacy, which runs superbly on the handheld with the right settings. Its competitors were titles like Diablo 4 (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-diablo-4/), Dredge, and Brotato. Starfield also scores a win in the Most Innovative Gameplay Award category.
