Grinding Gear Games revealed a new class that will be available in Path of Exile 2, the Mercenary. The Mercenary class features shooter-like gameplay with the ability to swap crossbows and ammo types on the fly. Alongside the class reveal, GGG also revealed that WASD movement has been added as an option to PoE2.

The Mercenary is a brand new class that is coming to Path of Exile 2, and does not exist in the current version of PoE. Based on the gameplay video, it looks like a pretty fun class similar to Demon Hunter from Diablo mixed with say a Gunslinger from a game like Lost Ark.
Fans had started to theorize that WASD movement was being added to the game after the previous Druid reveal video showed some gameplay that looked like WASD movement. Now that Grinding Gear Games has confirmed its existence, we know that you will be able to move in a different direction than you aim and attack which is huge for an ARPG. According to the GGG, players will be able to switch between click-to-move and WASD at any time.
I'm excited to see what other classes and feature reveals we get as we get closer to the PoE 2 release. Path of Exile 2 enters closed beta on June 7, 2024.
