It's that time of year again! The nominations reveal for The Game Awards (https://www.destructoid.com/?s=the+game+awards), happening on December 7, will occur on Monday, November 13, with tickets available now.

According to Geoff's tweet, over 30 categories will be announced, including the highly-anticipated Game of the Year. This year has seen many acclaimed games, with titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kigndom (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-the-legend-of-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom/), Baldur's Gate III (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-baldurs-gate-3/), and Alan Wake 2 (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-alan-wake-2/) making big waves. Last year (https://www.destructoid.com/the-game-awards-2022-all-the-winners-from-tonights-show/), the Game of the Year went to FromSoftware's Elden Ring (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-elden-ring/). It'll be interesting to see what gets nominated this year, as well as what dark horses and snubs may appear, much like years past.
For those who want to experience the show in-person, tickets are now available for purchase (https://www.axs.com/events/497432/the-game-awards-tickets?skin=peacock&utm_source=TGA+&utm_medium=website&utm_campaign=sale). The event will take place at the Peacock Theater. Previous years had the show at Microsoft Theater, but no reason was given for the new location. Ticket prices range from $81 to $181, depending on where you choose to sit in the Orchestra section.
Starting in 2014, The Game Awards, created by Geoff Keighley, is in its 10th year. While the event did exist prior in the form of 2013's VGX and Spike Video Game Awards, the show was a little loose with its presentation. In years since, The Game Awards have become a bit more prestigious, and now loosely resembles other music and movie award shows.
Still, expect many big announcements, much like years prior. Famous announcements in the past include Xbox Series X (https://www.gamesindustry.biz/xbox-series-x-officially-revealed-at-the-game-awards), Death Stranding 2 (https://www.destructoid.com/death-stranding-2-has-officially-been-revealed/), and Joker from Persona 5 in Super Smash Bros.
