No More Robots has announced that Cheesemaker?s ghostly bathhouse game, Spirittea is set to release on November 13 for Switch, Xbox (on GamePass), and PC. Alongside the announcement is an 8-minute in-depth look (https://youtu.be/QrmL_VLiPbs?feature=shared) at the game.

Spirittea is a management quest game (think Stardew Valley) inspired by Studio Ghibli?s Spirited Away. You play as a writer, trying to get some peace to pen your next novel. Drinking from the wrong teapot causes the spirit realm to fold over into reality. You?re given the keys to a bathhouse (https://www.destructoid.com/spirittea-demo-delivers-adorable-management-community-sim-gameplay/), where you then scrub down spirits and help them relax.

Cheesemaker describes Spirittea as a ?life sim, management game, and detective game all in one.? Essentially, that means you help the townsfolk exorcise the ghosts that are bothering them, which you then try to accommodate within your bathhouse. The bathhouse can be upgraded, which is necessary to attract some of the spirits. Beyond that is a life simulator with four seasons that affect what quests you can accomplish.

This might be exactly what I need right now. Management games tend to be my go-to for relaxation. I can definitely dig the Mother 3-style art, though it?s a bit jarring when a character portrait comes up, and they?re much more realistically drawn. Nonetheless, the Spirited Away influence is obvious, and that?s something I can totally dig. I think I?ll probably play this one.

Spirittea is coming to Switch, Xbox, and PC on November 13, 2023. There?s a demo available for it right now.
