It?s almost time to swing back to the streets of New York City in Marvel?s Spider-Man 2. But, before we do, developer Insomniac Games is encouraging players to download the day one patch.

In an image post (https://twitter.com/insomniacgames/status/1714325690173083971) made via Twitter, the developer confirms the entire game is present on the disc for physical players, and is fully playable without the need of a patch. But, ?for the best experience, we highly encourage physical/disc-based players to download update Version 1.001.002 on launch day ? prior to experiencing the opening mission of the game for the first time.?

The studio went on to explain the day one patch ? which serves to add ?polish to the gold master version? of the game?s physical edition ? will be auto-loaded for any digital players who pre-load the game. In addition to polish, the day one patch ?improves the opening sections of the game? and adds accessibility options, according to Insomniac.

Marvel?s Spider-Man 2 is set to continue where its predecessors left off, allowing players to explore an expanded NYC (https://www.destructoid.com/miles-and-peter-can-meet-each-other-while-playing-spider-man-2/) as they fight both new and existing villains such as Venom, Kraven the Hunter, and Lizard. It looks pretty good, judging by our own review from Chris Carter (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-marvels-spider-man-2/) where it received a 9. It is set for release on October 20 exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
