So we're all waiting for the return of Silent Hill. After years of dormancy, we're finally getting some new entries, plus the remake of SH2 by Bloober Team. However, people are still finding hidden things in the classic entries, such as this one from the third game.

As spotted by The Gamer (https://www.thegamer.com/silent-hill-3-hilltop-centre-bathtub-bloody-cords-hidden-detail-art-director-forgot-about/), a Twitter profile called Silent Hill Fact Hub (https://twitter.com/silent_facts/status/1708182006855610732) has noticed that, during the Hilltop Center section, which features a bathtub that triggers a shift into the Otherworld, there's a thin cord nearby.

This seems to explain what causes said bathtub to inexplicably fill up with blood. Although "weird shit be doing weird shit" is an acceptable theory in any Silent Hill game, it adds a little explanatory detail as to what's likely occurring.

Masahiro Ito responds

Masahiro Ito, who was art director for Silent Hill 3, responded to this tweet, congratulating them on noticing the cord. A further tweet from Masahiro Ito (https://twitter.com/adsk4/status/1708213078490570885) says that this took 20 years to find, and that they'd "totally forgot [about] the bloody cords." There may even be some details that have still not been found.

It kind of really hammers home how much detail goes into each Silent Hill installment. It remains to be seen whether the upcoming releases will put as much care into their worlds as people like Ito did in the classic games. Then again, he is working with Bloober Team on the remake (https://www.destructoid.com/silent-hill-2-remake-bloober-team-konami-ps5-pc-reveal/), so we'll see.

With it coming up to Halloween, fans across the globe are going to be keeping their ear to the ground on any developments regarding the triumphant return of Konami's legendary horror series.
