Book of the DeadYsbryd Games has announced (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6R1kw_VGigY) that critically acclaimed creeper World of Horror (https://www.destructoid.com/early-access-review-world-of-horror/) is finally preparing to leave Early Access and unleash its brand of skin-crawling cosmic terror onto PC and console platforms. Originally expected to launch this summer, World of Horror will now arrive on October 19.
Opening its creaking doors in the winter of 2020, Panstasz' indie hit is an apocalyptic tale of demons, ghouls, and other ungodly abominations, slowly emerging throughout Japan's Shiokawa region. Utilizing a distinct visual style reminiscent of early Mac adventure titles, World of Horror tasks players with guide a party of characters through over 10 nightmarish mysteries, inspired by the works of authors H.P. Lovecraft and Junji Ito.

Since its arrival on Early Access, World of Horror has been praised by fans for its utterly unnerving atmosphere, simplistic but bizarrely frightening aesthetic, and moody chiptune soundtrack. Like many horror titles of the home computer age, World of Horror feels particularly unholy, with a sense of evil that permeates through the screen with effectiveness not even afford franchises such as Resident Evil. If you have a taste for the macabre, and are yet to check this dirty ditty out, then ensure that this release is sitting on your radar, ready for those long, dark, fall evenings.
World of Horror launches October 19 on PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It is available on PC via Early Access now.
