Biomutant originally launched on other platforms on May 21, 2021. It drops you and your hideously ugly fursona in a post-apocalyptic world where your goal is to maybe save the world tree if you think that?s a good idea. For the most part, it was very open-world and put an emphasis on crafting and exploration.
I liked it (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-biomutant/). Maybe one of the few, I think. I enjoyed the exploration, thought the world presented a nice amount of variety, and the crafting system is one of the best I?ve seen. Not only could you build weapons, you could take them apart and make them into better weapons. I don?t need to excuse myself for liking a game that other people bounced off of, but if I wanted to, 2021 was absolutely depressing. Any spark of joy just glowed brighter.
I?m not really sure how this is going to look on Switch. It uses Unreal Engine 4, which has built-in compatibility with the Switch. However, I feel like you?re going to need to substantially cut back on the vegetation and fur, and I?m not sure a naked version of Biomutant is going to look so hot. Still, gameplay-wise, it should be the same. We?re pretty far removed from the days when games needed to be scaled back to fit on handheld.
Biomutant is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It will be coming to Switch on November 30, 2023.
