No heroes on the goMarvel's Midnight Suns is getting new content and some new platforms next week. But alongside the launch confirmation comes some bad news for Switch holdouts: Marvel's Midnight Suns is no longer planned for a Switch release.
In today's blog (https://midnightsuns.2k.com/latest/ps4-xboxone-date/), 2K and Firaxis confirm the news, saying that a "Nintendo Switch version of Marvel's Midnight Suns is no longer planned."
As one of Marvel's Midnight Suns' delays, Firaxis had pushed the hero strategy game and also further delayed (https://www.destructoid.com/marvels-midnight-suns-delay-fiscal-year-2023-tba-ps4-switch-xbox/) some console versions of it. While the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions arrived last December, the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions fell back.
For PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners, Midnight Suns lands on those platforms on May 11. Alongside the new platform launches is a new character update, as Storm of the X-Men joins the Midnight Suns.

The "Blood Storm" update will add the weather-controlling mutant herself, who looks to pack some serious wallop on the battlefield. According to the trailer description, this is the "fourth and final" post-launch DLC for Marvel's Midnight Suns. The new content also includes an Enhanced T.H.R.E.A.T. Room upgrade for the Abbey. And if you've managed to knock out all the DLC content including Storm, there will be a final showdown waiting for you at the end.
The midnight sun risesIt's a bit of a bummer to see Midnight Suns not make it to Switch. With Firaxis' tactical hero game Verified for Steam Deck (https://store.steampowered.com/app/368260/Marvels_Midnight_Suns/), portability seems ideal for this game. It also makes me wonder whether other lingering Switch ports (https://www.destructoid.com/hogwarts-legacy-ps4-xbox-one-switch-delay-2023/) are still in the cards, too.
As for Marvel's Midnight Suns (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-marvels-midnight-suns/), it's been a strange and interesting ride. Though its sales didn't erupt (https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/take-two-says-imperfect-release-window-may-have-contributed-to-slow-marvels-midnight-suns-sales/) right out of the gate, I've played a good chunk of it and enjoyed the tactical take on superhero brawling. Plus, it has some great social elements back at the Abbey, and with some of the characters we don't get to see very often in other Marvel properties. It's a shame that Switch-only players won't get to try it out for themselves.
