The sequel is heading into the polishing stage soonAlan Wake 2 is still in development, but it sounds like its pieces are coming together. Remedy confirms that Alan Wake 2 is fully playable, and will be headed into its polishing stages soon.
In a financial statement to investors, the studio confirms that Alan Wake 2 is coming together. Here's the comment from Remedy CEO Tero Virtala:

"Alan Wake 2 is in full production. The game will soon have all content in place, and it is playable from start to finish. We will then move onto polishing the experience."
The next Alan Wake game was revealed at The Game Awards 2021 (https://www.destructoid.com/alan-wake-2-is-coming-to-light-up-the-night-in-2023/) and set for a 2023 launch. Now we're here, many months later, and it looks like Remedy is making good progress towards meeting that window.

Remedy also notes that last year's remaster (https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/alan-wake-remastered-review/) of Alan Wake has yet to generate royalties, though it expects sales for the remaster to pick up once the sequel is imminent.
A light in the darkAfter seeing Alan Wake get tied into the Control universe as part of its DLC roll-out, it's neat to see this series gradually building up its second wind. We haven't seen much of what Alan Wake 2 will really look like yet, but there's still a lot of 2023 left ahead of us.
Remedy is also still working on other projects, notably the follow-up (https://www.destructoid.com/control-2-announced-remedy-505-games-ps5-pc-xbox-series-x/) to its 2019 hit Control.
"We now have detailed concepts on the game vision and all creative areas including the gameplay, narrative and art," said Virtala of Control 2. "We are pleased with the work the team has done and as of January 2023, the game has progressed into the proof of-concept stage."
Codename Condor, Remedy's service-based game (https://www.destructoid.com/multiplayer-control-spinoff-remedy-505-news/) developed in partnership with 505 Games, is also progressing, as is Codename Vanguard. Plus, there are the Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes in the works, which are currently in the concept stage. There's a lot on Remedy's plate, but hopefully with Alan Wake 2, we'll see what they can deliver this year.
