With the holidays coming up, you might be losing someWhen do My Nintendo points expire? Well it depends on the type of point it is! Let's go over both briefly as we head into the holiday season.
So My Nintendo Platinum Points expire after six months from collection. It's important to game the system as much as possible: meaning, there are ways to bank missions and not actually complete them until you need them. Gold Points, which are more like cash that can be used directly for eShop payments, expire in 12 months. There's a lot more leeway here with the expanded timeframe, but note that since a lot of folks make purchases in December, you might be coming up on a time period where a bunch will expire.
To check both of these timelines, you'll want to head to the "Point Summary" link at the bottom of the main My Nintendo login (https://my.nintendo.com/missions) page, then click on point expiration (https://my.nintendo.com/point/expiration).
