The studio is moving back one project so it can get another out the doorEmbark Studios recently confirmed it was pushing back one of its titles, ARC Raiders. Alongside the reasoning it gave, the company also shed some light on its future production plans, including a game that it plans to have out ahead of ARC Raiders.
In a blog post (https://medium.com/embarkstudios/an-update-on-our-games-2baea3d58b51), Embark CEO and founder Patrick S?derlund discussed the ARC Raiders delay. As the studio confirmed, the co-op shooter won't be launching until next year (https://www.destructoid.com/arc-raiders-delay-2023-embark-studios-news/).
For transparency, S?derlund confirms Embark has several projects in development. Alongside ARC Raiders, the studio is working on a team-based first-person shooter codenamed Project Discovery. It was teased in a tweet (https://twitter.com/EmbarkStudios/status/1457998271641686023), in November of last year.

Project Discovery has advanced, and faster than expected. S?derlund writes that the game is coming along fast enough that Embark was looking at the prospect of simultaneously launching two games. But launching two games in rapid succession might strain Embark's resources.
"As such, we decided to let Project Discovery be our studio's first game to market, pushing ARC Raiders to a 2023 release," said S?derlund. "It's a decision that will also allow us to expand and refine the ARC Raiders experience."
A new discoveryWith Project Discovery advancing, ARC Raiders is going to take a little more time to cook in the oven. And that may not be all for the sci-fi world either.
S?derlund writes that over the course of this spring, Embark started to concept and prototype a PvP-focused game mode in the ARC Raiders universe that the studio wants to spend more time on.
The founder says the team will announce more details about ARC Raiders when its ready. Meanwhile, without going into more detail, there is more news due about Project Discovery "very soon," according to the blog. So while one Embark game is a ways away, another may not be so far off after all.
