Today's trailer focuses on some of the (many) companions you'll meet and the "exotic" Xianzhou Luofu location. Even without context, I kind of enjoyed the sights and sounds.
As the next step in the Honkai series, Honkai: Star Rail is looking to rope in a fresh audience with its "newcomer-friendly strategic turn-based combat system" as well as "maze exploration, puzzle-solving, and instant action elements," according to the developers.
This is my first real introduction to the game, and I am all about sipping tea while explosive space battles unfold in the background. Is this more your vibe than the usual Genshin Impact flair, or are you fully invested in Teyvat already (https://www.destructoid.com/tag/genshin-impact/) (thanks but no thanks)? There are only so many hours in the day to make new friends, you know? Maybe a turn-based approach is more your speed, or maybe you're just more into the interstellar vibe.
Honkai: Star Rail is coming to PC and mobile platforms, and while we don't have a release date, the game has been getting in front of players with playtests (https://hsr.hoyoverse.com/en-us).
